In this months’ edition of National Liquor News, Kollaras & Co were delighted to see the success of proprietary brand, Wai Hua Pinot Noir.
Each month, a panel of industry experts blind taste and score wines on their appearance, nose and palate.
Wines are scored against a 100 point system, before being averaged to find the top rating wines from each LUC Price Bracket.
Being rated an overall 89 points, Andrew Stubbs from Vine – Providore Of Fine Wine, commented on Wai Hua, saying it was “well balanced between red fruit and forest floor, [with a] Persistent mouthfeel … good acidity & length.”
General Manager of Fisher Fine Wines, Daryl Fisher, also commented on Wai Hua’s “good palate, juicy fruit and balanced” character.
Michael Bynon, Kollaras & Co’s Executive General Manager of Exclusive Brands made comment on the wine’s success; “It is very pleasing to get these types of comments back from the judges. We first tasted the wine very early in its development and decided to back it, so I’m glad to see it has fulfilled its early promise, complimented by its reasonable price point. “
Wai Hua Pinot Noir is currently available on many major cruise lines, with a wonderful Sauvignon Blanc to strengthen the range. Kollaras & Co have plans to release this into the domestic market within the coming months.
