In recognition of the high quality of Kollaras brand Briar Ridge, National Liquor News has awarded the Winemaker’s Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 87 points in its recent Cabernet Sauvignon blind tasting.
National Liquor News has been informing the liquor industry for nearly 30 years and has a team of industry specialists contributing to the publication, consistently rating Briar Ridge highly.
The Cabernet Sauvignon Blind Tasting was performed by a team of experts, with wines scored on appearance, nose and palate against a 100-point system, before being averaged to find the top rating wines from each price bracket.
Briar Ridge scored 87 points in the top-rating wines under $13 category. It was described by one of the judges as having “Great varietal definition, good structure, cassis, cedar, medium weight, a well-made Cabernet.”
Kollaras Managing Director John Kollaras was elated with the fantastic score saying: “Briar Ridge is recognised by James Halliday as a five-star rated winery, so we have every faith in its makers to produce winning wines. Partnering high calibre producers is the essence of the Kollaras vision and a pathway of which we certainly intend on continuing.”
